Abstract

Shola art is a key element in the rich folk art heritage of Bangladesh. Shola, a type of plant, is used to create artistic works. Historically, this art was widely practiced, but its usage has been declining due to material scarcity, competition from foreign products, and lack of general recognition. In light of this, there is a pressing need to preserve and protect Shola art. Understanding the materials, practical applications, techniques, aesthetics, and beauty of Shola art is crucial. This article aims to explore the heritage of Shola art through data collection and analysis, examining various aspects such as Shola art as folk art, as a craft, its religious significance, and its use as toys.
