Abstract

Art practice flows like rivers and oceans, continuously evolving. An essential aspect of any art practice is its medium, and in this article, the focus is on paper as the medium. Paper is a powerful tool for expressing human thoughts, yet there has been limited research or study on paper crafts in this country. This article explores the evolution of paper crafts from their inception to modern times, analyzing their motifs, artistic convenience, usability, techniques, and possibilities within the context of Bangladesh. Additionally, it highlights how the festival-loving and non-communal spirit of the people in this region has imparted unique characteristics to their paper crafts.
